'You know nothing about the real world': Ricky Gervais tells Golden Globe winners not to make political speeches
Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais kicked off the 77th annual awards show by telling the night's soon-to-be winners not to use their acceptance speeches to make political statements.
"So, if you do win an award tonight, don�t use it as a platform to make a political speech, right?" the actor and comedian said during his opening monologue. "You�re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.
He added, "If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God, and f--- off."
